Growth and Housing Strategy

We believe the best ideas always come from the community.

This page is an online space to have input into this long-term growth, land development, and housing strategy for Nunatsiavut. We will be asking the community for help and advice over the next year with a mix of in-person community visits, events, interviews, and open houses in addition to online engagement.

Have ideas about housing? Have thoughts about what buildings, businesses, parks, transportation, or recreation spaces you want to see in your community? We are hoping to hear about all types of development and your vision for the future growth and change.

    Why this project?

The Nunatsiavut Land, Development, and Housing Strategy is a project started by the Nunatsiavut Government in collaboration with the Inuit Community Governments. This project’s purpose is to plan future land and housing development of Nunatsiavut communities for the next 20 years. Long-term planning of the lands within community boundaries means imagining what buildings, trails, roads, wharves, parks, dump sites, and housing should be planned for a sustainable future.

This survey is aimed at learning more about your communities' needs and ambitions regarding land, development, and housing. This input will help us develop solutions and invest in infrastructure in a way that will respond to your reality and your needs.

We need your input on this online survey, which will take 5 to 10 minutes to complete.
